Dante R. Basco (born August 29, 1975) is an American actor, voice actor, and dancer. He is known for his voice work in video games, movies and TV shows, and for his role as Rufio, the leader of Lost Boys in the 1991 movie Hook.

Life and career
Dante Basco is an American Filipino born in Pittsburg, California and raised in Cerritos and Paramount, California. She has four siblings, including actor Dion Basco. His cousin, Nick, edits his video on YouTube and has his own YouTube channel, Trainer Tips. In Dante's early years, he was part of the Streat Freaks breakdown crew. When he started acting, he began to take a small role on television. Basco's breakout performance was when he emerged as Rufio's leader of Lost Boys in the 1991 movie Steven Spielberg Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. The punk band was later named after this character. He studied at Orange County Arts College at the Conservatory of Music and Theater and graduated in 1993.
Basco has a guest role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Hangin with TV. Cooper , and has a recurring role in Moesha . After depicting the characters of various Asian ethnic groups except his own, he portrays an American Filipino along with his three brothers and sisters in the independent film The Debut. He and his brothers starred in the sitcom Naked Brown Men . He plays a gay teenager in the 1999 movie But I'm A Cheerleader . She starred as Ramos breakdancer in the 2006 film Take The Lead with Antonio Banderas. In many movies, he dances hip-hop as he does in Verizon Wireless ads, as well as tapping and cracking Sprite ads. He produced and co-starred the parody of the music video of the song "Rehab" called "Wiihab".

Basco also provides additional votes through work for Avatar: The Last Airbender , and games Avatar: The World Is Yours , Aion , Aion: Upheaval and Mortal Kombat X . In June 2017, he agreed with Jonah Feingold to work on a new movie together, Bangi , about Rufio's character. Project development begins with Kickstarter campaign.
