Joe Galat was born in Painesville, Ohio and has extensive experience in professional football as a player, coach, general manager, broadcaster and young executive. He is best known as a former college and professional football coach who starred in Miami University (Ohio) as a player. In addition to an extensive college coaching career, Joe has trained in National Football League as a coach with New York Giants and Houston Oilers, as well as in Canada. Joe Galat also works as a national color commentator for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Canada. She is president of American Youth Football & amp; Cheer. Founded in 1996, the organization currently operates in 50 states and has more than 250,000 documented participants.

After playing for Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio, Joe Galat attended Miami University (Ohio) where he captained the football team and the Miami Redskins wrestling team. The university known as 'Cradle of Coaches' remains a member of the Mid-America Conference today. Joe Error inducted into Miami Redhawks Hall of Fame. After graduating in 1962, the Galat football internship will continue under the legendary coach Bo Schembechler, Carmen Cozza, and John McVay (Vice President of San Francisco 49ers who collaborated with 49ers head coach Bill Walsh in one of the most successful dynasties in NFL history) five Super Bowl wins.
Joe Galat was hired by George Allen (American football coach) Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach to rebuild Montreal Alouettes. The team under Nelson Skalbania has traded their Canadian players to NFL free agent rights. The following year, NFL players returned to the United States leaving the team without US or Canadian Talent.
After the tour as an assistant coach at the NCAA at Yale University, the University of Miami, the University of Kentucky and for the NFL New York Giants and Houston Oilers, the Painesville natives were hired as Chief Coach and General Manager of Montreal Alouettes in Canadian League Football by then owner George Allen. In the hockey province of Quebec hockey, Galat hired the first French Canadian trainer in CFL history, Mr. Jacques Dussault. Error and Dussault started a clinic to teach and motivate football games in the province of Quebec.

Wally Buono has 3 Gray Cup wins and is the most winning coach in CFL history. Eric Tillman has 2 Gray Cup wins while Dave Ritchie (football coach) has 1 Gray Cup victory. The other two on the Error staff, Chris Palmer (American football) are head coach of Cleveland Browns and also Offensive Coach for New York Giants Super Bowl Champions. Tom Rossley served as Offensive Coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.

CFL Joe Error training period is not successful in terms of results. His Montreal Concordes consistently finish under 0,500 each year and only make the playoffs one time (in 1984). Towards the end of the 1985 Montreal Concordes season with the team slipping, Galat (who is also GM's team) resigned as head coach with two games to go in the season but remain as GM. The next season (1986), in which the Montreal team has returned to the original name of Alouettes, he left the team on 1 August (president of Norm Kimball assumes GM's duties for the rest of the season) to join BC Lions mid-seasons as General Manager, until the end of the season CFL 1989. With four straight defeats to open the Lions season in 1989 BC, Galat fired on head coach Larry Donovan and named himself a temporary coach for the last fourteen games. The Lions narrowly missed the postseason into the Roughriders of Saskatchewan. After a disappointing finish, Galat was released as a GM club and was replaced by Joe Kapp.

With the time he spends on training and managing professional and college football teams, Galat volunteers some time to attend the youth soccer league function. When he became president of American Youth Football, the Galat strategy became simple: changing the rules and games tradition of creating unlimited weight divisions and restricting older children from playing younger children. National Football League works with AYF as National Youth Football to make games better for kids. The New England Patriots wide receiver, Randy Moss also gave back the game as a spokesperson for AYF. On his return to Montreal for his daughter's admission to McGill University in 1999, Error was requested by John Gilman, founder and former FieldTurf Chief Executive Officer, to help introduce a new company called FieldTurf, a replication of the grasscourt field. The results of independent research prove that FieldTurf is a safer and more durable surface than a good natural grass field. In addition to the President's duties with American Youth Football, Joe Galat currently holds the title of Vice President of Sales at FieldTurf Tarkett.
