Wilmington University is a private, nonprofit doctoral research institution, with its main campus located in New Castle, Delaware, USA.
Wilmington University was founded in 1968 as a Wilmington College by Dr. Donald Ross. It officially became the University of Wilmington in 2007, following the approval of the Supervisory Board and the Commission of Middle Countries for Higher Education. By 2016, the university serves a total of 20,522 undergraduate and graduate students in nearly 100 degree and certificate programs. College of Health Professions
The College of Health Professions is unique among universities in the region, where undergraduate courses are offered only as a "completion" program for students who have attended a two-year nursing program and become Registered Nurse. The campus, which has full accreditation by the Collegiate Nursing College Commission (CCNE) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, enrolled the first class of RN-to-BSN students in 1986.
