Blue Mountain State is an American comedy series aired on Spike (now Paramount Network) on January 11, 2010. The series was created by Chris Romano and Eric Falconer, and produced by Lionsgate Television. The series is about a fictitious university, Blue Mountain State, and a football team, "Mountain Goat". It describes certain aspects of American university life, including American soccer, sex, binge drinking, drugs, wild parties, and hazing. Over the years, mostly because it can be streamed on Netflix, this series has developed a cult following.

In February 2012, it was reported that Blue Mountain State will not be renewed for the fourth season. On April 8, 2014, BMS Movies was announced and Kickstarter was launched on April 15, 2014. The Kickstarter campaign achieved its goal of $ 1.5 million on May 11, 2014, and the film was released in February. 2016.

  • Pauline (Chantal Quesnelle) (Seasons 1-2): Pauline is a cougar's resident at the Blue Mountain State goat's house. She likes it when people piss on her, that's what attracted her to Sammy because she disliked him when he got drunk. He has sex with all football players and Sammy. In Season 2, she got pregnant and left a message at Goat House. He finally decided to raise his own baby, until it was announced that Coach Daniels was his father.
  • Kate (Heffern): Kate is a Cheerleading Captain. He has shown great contempt for Sammy and Mary Jo. In Season 2, it was revealed that he was a personal cheerleader of Thad after he dislocated his ankle, and made Mary Jo replace it.
  • Warren Simon (Ted Atherton) (Season 2): Warren is dean of the State of the Blue Mountain. He was a bookworm in his youth and hated Coach Daniels. He tried to embarrass Alex by holding a banquet in his honor and giving a speech on paper he knew Alex did not write, and he convinced the nerds to light the athletes. The plan was ruined by a joke led by Sammy. Warren dated Debra, Daniels' ex-wife, but he and Daniels finally came back together.

Reception

Metacritic gives the series 38 out of 100, out of the four reviews collected. Brian Lowry of Variety found that "Blue Mountain" embraces the (rough comedy) aspects of Spike's mandate over all others - putting the body/semi-nudity train before the sitcom horse. " Lowry also stated: "[ Spike ] has made this blue" Mountain "into a mole comedy." Mark A. Perigard of Boston Herald provides a favorable series of reviews by saying, " Blue is also often funny by vulgar American Pie . a college comedy where people want to be wasted and lying, in any order. "Joe Walljasper of Columbia Daily Tribune explains this series as appealing to those who watched the movie Porky and "feel that the joke is too high.".

In its first season, the event averaged 949,000 viewers in the first six episodes while increasing at time slots by 165% among men 18-24. In the second season, the premier attracted 1.34 on Men 18-34, up 34% compared to the first season average and ranked 2nd in its timeslot. During this season showed significant growth ratings compared to season 1, giving a 33% increase in Men 18-34, 50% in Men 18-24, and 14% in Men 18-49. Season 3 Blue Mountain State began airing on September 21, 2011 in Spike.

The event has collected the following small sect after it was released on Netflix. Fans of the event often start petitions and Facebook pages to make Spike bring the show back for the fourth season. Many cast members, especially Page Kennedy, signaled a reunion project in the months leading up to the film's announcement. Kennedy made Vines and tweeted with the stars of Darin Brooks performances, Alan Ritchson, Frankie Shaw, Chris Romano and Sam Jones III.

Broadcast

The series aired on Spike on January 11, 2010 in the United States. In Australia and New Zealand, the series airs on MTV Australia and MTV New Zealand, respectively, starting April 22, 2010. The series began airing in the UK on April 18, 2010 on MTV. MTV Germany and Viva (TV stations) also broadcast this series with great success in Germany and the Netherlands. MTV Brazil began airing the series August 3, 2010. The show also began airing on The Score in Canada in October 2011.

Season 3 starts airing September 21, 2011 at Spike at 11 pm.

Feature Film

In March 2013, Ed Marinaro stated in an interview with Class Act Sports that he was working on the Blue Mountain State movie. He keeps hinting on Twitter on some of the 'behind the scenes' work done on the film. In early March 2014, Page Kennedy began hinting at the Blue Mountain State reunion project on Instagram, Vine and Twitter along with Darin Brooks, Kelly Kruger, Alan Ritchson, Sam Jones III, Frankie Shaw, and Romanski.

On April 8, 2014, Blue Mountain State: The Movie was officially announced. To help make the announcement, Alan Ritchson, in character as Thad Castle, makes a fake video featuring Jimmy Kimmel (Kimmel's recording comes from a 2013 interview with Kanye West).

On April 15th, production launches a Kickstarter campaign, much like the very successful 2013 campaign by Veronica Mars to get a canceled event made into a widescreen movie. The project's goal is to collect $ 1.5 million on May 15 to fund the film. There are rewards for donations to the campaign, such as the personalized tweets of the cast (to donate $ 10), shot glasses and pints with the BMS logo ($ 20), and the role of speaking in the film (for a $ 10,000 donation).

On May 11, 2014, Kickstarter's goal of $ 1.5 million was achieved. On May 15, 2014, the Kickstarter campaign ended, with final funds being raised to $ 1,911,827 from 23,999 supporters.

In May 2014, it was announced Jay Chandrasekhar would be the director of the film. However, on September 28, 2014, Lev L. Spiro was announced as the new director of BMS: The Movie . The crew began filming at the end of 2014 at a location in Wilmington, North Carolina. Movie production reported completion on December 14, 2014.

The film, titled Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland , was officially released on 2 February 2016.
