Background and release
In December 2010, Madonna posted a message on her Facebook, exclaiming: "Officer! I need to move, I need to sweat, I have to make new music! Music that I can follow I am looking for the craziest, the sickest, the most big bad guys to collaborate.I just say ". One of the collaborators was the French DJ and producer Martin Solveig, who was invited to a writing session by Madonna in London in July 2011. Initially, Madonna wanted to work with Solveig on one song, but eventually turned into three songs - "Give Me All Your Luvin < span> ' "," I Do not Give A ", and" Turn Up the Radio ". In an interview with Billboard, Solveig explained that Madonna had enough time for the project, so after working on one song, they continued recording. Solveig described the session as a pleasure and labeled their "special time".
"Give Me All Your Luvins '" written by Madonna, Martin Solveig, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., and Michael Tordjman, while production is led by Madonna and Solveig. Madonna wants to work with M.I.A. and Minaj on a song, because he feels that they are both "strong ladies with a unique voice". He paid tribute to the stars, saying "[Minaj and M.I.A.] are not conventional pop stars and I really admire them". M.I.A. confirmed the collaboration on his Twitter account, saying that he had been asked to come to New York City on November 29, 2011. The rapper felt that the collaboration was an achievement his mother would be proud of, "much better than I put 'Galang' at the club. "
On November 8, 2011, a demo version of the song, named "Give Me All Your Love", was leaked. According to Keith Caulfield of Billboard , "In a few hours, [the song and leaks] are among the top 10 most popular topics worldwide on Twitter." Madonna's manager Guy Oseary spoke of a leak on Twitter adding the singer's remarks in the situation: "My true fans will not do this". Oseary also explained that their original plan is for new music that will come out in 2012 itself. He was happy with the positive reaction to the demo, but asked fans to help him get a leak again. The leaked demo does not have good vocals from Minaj and M.I.A. Madonna thought, "It's really disappointing because you do not want things out until you're done with them, until you're ready. This is like everyone sees unfinished painting. This is like, 'Wait a minute.I did not finish it. fair. "
On December 22, 2011, police arrested a 31-year-old man from Spain who reportedly been divulging the demo. They confirm the suspect's initials as J.M.R. and describes it as "a Madonna fan"; they found the recording of the song in his belongings. He was arrested in Zaragoza, indicted and later released, pending trial. It was confirmed by The Huffington Post that the person was not trying to benefit from the release. In 2014, several demos of thirteen Madonna [Rebel Heart] studio albums leaked and an Israeli hacker named Adi Lederman was arrested: the indictment said that Lederman was also responsible for the leak of "Give Me All Your Luvin '".
A month later, Interscope Records announced that the song would be released on February 3, 2012, three days before she appeared on the Super Bowl XLVI part-time show. This song is a debut single from a three-album contract with Interscope Records. Along with the announcement, Madonna revealed cover art for the single. It depicts three black-and-white pictures of the contiguous singer, making faces and posing, wearing a T-shirt with the title of the song. "Give Me All Your Luvin '" was sent to US Mainstream radio on February 7, 2012. Madonna partnered with Clear Channel media to launch radio support for the track, and from 3 February was played on 95 Mainstream radio stations and Rhythmic owned by them. The single is also played in the UK through a Clear Channel partnership with Capital's radio network in the UK. They play the song at the top every hour of the day through February 5, along with megamix songs from MDNA . Recording and composition
"Give Me All Your Luvin '" was recorded at MSR Studios, New York City and Sarm West Studios, Notting Hill, London. Demacio "Demo" Castellon record and mix the tracks. Philippe Weiss and Graham Archer helped Castellon in the recording, while Angie Teo helped in mixing. Jason "Metal" Donkersgoed did additional song editing and Jean Baptiste Gaudray played the guitar. Along with his production duties, Solveig also arranges the synths and drums for the tracks. He recalled that the song was recorded in two days, with Madonna and he continued to discuss the chord progressions and his music. Early versions of the parsing were "too much" from dubstep, which Madonna asked her to change, while adding Minaj and M.I.A. knock them.
"Give Me All Your Luvin '" is a dance-pop song, with new wave elements and disco. The song starts with a cheer: "L-U-V Madonna, Y-O-U you want" with a vocal tone reminiscent of Gwen Stefani's single "Hollaback Girl" (2005) and "Mickey" (1982) by Toni Basil. "The 60s polished mill" succeeded in reciting a mantra, supported by synthesizers and bouncing hard drums. Priya Elan from NME says that the compositions are similar to Madonna's own songs such as "Beautiful Stranger" (1999), "Amazing" (2000) and the songs on her studio album, Ray of Light i> (1998) and Hard Candy (2008).
Chorus from the following song, which Madonna did in a high-pitched voice: "Do not play dumb game/Because I'm a different girl/Every recording sounds the same/You have to step into me world/Give me all luvin ', give me your love/Give me all your love today. " Entertainment Weekly ' s Lanford Beard observes that the song" sings Katy Perry-meet-Gwen Stefani's song, echoes the words of Ashlee Simpson to New Wave-y synth -guitar sounds, and details of 'Hold It Against Me' redux. "John Mitchell of MTV News commented that the instrumentation of the song consisted of" glittering synthesizers, marching band drums, applause and a catchy-as-hell chorus. " Lewis Corner of Digital Spy calls this song "an 80s inspired electro-thumper complete with cheerleading singer 'LUV Madonna!'" "Give Me All Your Luvin '" is written in key D ? and has a fairly fast tempo of 144 beats per minute. This follows the basic chords of D ? -G ? -A ? in the verses, and D ? -F ? -C ? -G ? in the chorus and the intermediate bridge. Madonna vocals span from tonal node C ? 4 to A ? 4 .
After a song leak in November 2011, the media reported on the similarity between the song and singer Nicola Roberts "Beat of My Drum", due to the lyrics "cheerleader-style" in both. "Give Me All Your Luvin '" has lyrics of "L-U-V Madonna" while Roberts tracks the lyrics feature "L.O.V.E/Dance with my drum beats". Soon after, Roberts referred to Madonna as an "impersonator" for the alleged similarities between the songs. However, he later insisted that the people "quickly to release the gun" and stated that he had not even heard the song. Brazilian music producer Joao Brasil alleged that the choir "Give Me All Your Luvin '" was traced from the 2011 single "L.O.V.E Banana". Both songs begin with cheerleading shouts, which in the Brazilian song say "L.O.V.E Banana" and in the song Madonna, "L.U.V. Madonna".
Critical reception
"Give Me All Your Luvins '" meet the diverse general reviews of the crtitcs music. Priya Elan from NME says that the song "seems to soar easily" and that "what Madonna does in this song is much more fun than we can imagine." He also stated that the song was a progress of the previous album's sound, Hard Candy . Jim Farber of the New York Daily News considers that the song is "pure candy gum, closer to an early singles like 'Burn' than the newer club hits.Just rap rap acting from a pretty camp Nicki Minaj, and the less MIA, tell us what decade we are. "Michael Cragg of The Guardian feels that the track is not bad. "The musical was pretty fun four minutes, featuring bouncing beats, acoustic riffs and cheerleader singing Gwen Stefani, but there's something a bit flat about sending Madonna.Given all the love she requires, you'll think she'll be more excited." Speaking of the rap section, he thinks that "Minaj really does his best, he usually panics doing the exercises in squeezing as many words into 10 second space, while the shorter MIA spell loses momentum." Chris Willman of Reuters calls it "irritable" and infectious: "Everything here is as foolish as titular spelling, but it has charm, at least if you like old musicals that some shooting tracks here pay homage to ". MTV News reporter Bradley Stern writes about the comparison "Hey Mickey", praising rap guests Minaj and M.I.A. although he felt it was "one of the most exciting moments in the album". In a review of MDNA , Neil McCormick of The Daily Telegraph feels that the main purpose of "the lightest and most cultured song" of the album is to represent the next generation female pop star.. Emily Mackay from The Quietus writes in detail about the song:
After the first screening of this album, I sat down and thought hard about which song I wanted to play the first time. The only thing that stuck most in the head was' Give Me All Your Luvins '', whose cheerleader is yelling and the ear-splitting rhythm is somewhat excruciating, but at least interesting. Minaj and M.I.A. very easy as both can be limited to just a few lines. Say what you like about Maya, but he sounds a more sensible agreement that Madonna herself is on the line like 'Imma said this once, hey I do not care'... Surprisingly, for one so tame, Madonna seems to see it as a challenge ' Every recording sounds the same, you have to step into my world '? We're in your bloody world! It's your responsibility to get out of it and make notes that do not sound the same, so do not be mad at us about it.
Andrew Hampp from Billboard negatively reviewed the signing of Minaj and M.I.A. as a guest artist, added that "This is a less important effort from all parties, especially Madonna, who does not sound like this robot since a faster moment in Hard Candy." In another review, Keith Caulfield of the same magazine considered the song an advertisement for the Super Bowl Madonna appearance, rather than being a promotional tool for MDNA , criticizing it for misleading listeners about the album's vibrations. Gareth Grundy of The Guardian shares this view, explaining the track as "awkward rave-pop". Jody Rosen of Rolling Stone rated him two of the five stars, describing the lyrics and compositions as "desperate" and "desperate", and unhappy with the song "aggressive, boastful spunkiness". Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine describes the song as "clearly vapid" and "catchy" but also states that "some of its charms -" 60s pop-pop guitars, vintage video-game effects, and reference to previous songs - the fastest pass. "He feels that Minaj and MIA are" Sticked to increase selling power "and that the song does not actually have" authenticity. "While reviewing the MDNA ,
Alexis Petridis of The Guardian listed the song as the weakest effort on MDNA , adding that "her position as the lead single of the album seems to be more related to showing off the presence of Nicki Minaj and MIA from fur melodies." A writer for Virgin Media gave this song three out of five stars, writes: "Like most Madonna singles, this song shot at high speed with flashes in his eyes, but self-references became exhausting and eventually he just tried too hard." Nick Levine, writing for The National , dumped his relationship as a "light pop piece". Matthew Parpetua of Pitchfork Media highlighted the song, saying that Solveig's production on the track was paired with the same "tasteless lyrics". Brad O'Mancey of Popjustice stated that the song was "proof that sometimes you can listen to something a lot, many times and still do not know if it's good or not." Chicago Tribune reporter Greg Kot was disappointed with the song and the lyrics, which he found to be meaningless, while Bernard Zuel from The Sydney Morning Herald was degraded as "stale and disposable". Alex Macpherson from Fact found the song to be a "wrong misunderstanding".

In the UK, the song peaked at number 37 on the UK Singles Chart with sales of 8,577 copies, becoming Madonna's 67th entry on the charts. The low sales are due to a two-day download sale being discounted by the Official Charts Company as a result of a promotional offer that allows the song to be downloaded for free if ordering an earlier album MDNA . Music video

On December 8, 2011, Minaj tweeted that he was on set with Madonna who recorded a music video for "Give Me All Your Luvin". He also said that Madonna kissed her lips, as a gift for her birthday. M.I.A. then tweeted about filming a video with Madonna, saying, "Madonna kills him! A legend! says he will have me, I say ill have it too". Directed by the Megaforce team - consisting of LÃÆ'à © o Berne, Charles Brisgand, RaphaÃÆ'ür Rodriguez and ClÃÆ'nk © ment Gallet - this video has a theme of football and cheerleader, inspired by her appearance at the Super Bowl before halftime. Rodriguez explained to MTV News that they discussed the song with Solveig and understood that the video should be "about happiness and something really bright." The entire display is also dictated by the fact that Megaforce never collaborated with Madonna, Minaj and M.I.A., felt that it was a "different universe" for them. The video was recorded for more than two days in New York, with a very tight timing that was considered difficult by Megaforce. Describing such processes as working with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Megaforce told the Swedish newspaper 20 minutes that the place was surrounded by police patrols and security guards and cell phones were not allowed. A total budget of US $ 1.5 million is allocated to the video. Some of the sequences in the video are Madonna's idea as a scene featuring her dance in front of the wall, which Megaforce feels will not go with the main narrative. However, the singer insisted to keep it and on the second day of filming he wrapped up the beginning and left.
Retouching is applied during post-production where Minaj wants her body to look like a plastic doll. Production for music videos is handled by the US-based Bureau of Companies and Riff Raff Films based in the UK. Paris visual effects, animation and motion design Mathematic studios were given the task of adding graphics to the video. A team of 14 artists worked for two weeks in Paris to complete the task, accompanied by Megaforce. Different methods used include rotoscoping and keys for creating artificial fireworks and shiny rain, 3D and 2D backgrounds, set-extensions, buildings, and the sky they created using Autodesk Maya. The costumes worn in the video include Adidas uniforms for Minaj and M.I.A. and a retro-inspired look to the sequence, wearing a white lace dress reminiscent of Madonna's look in her music video for "Like a Virgin" (1984), as well as Marilyn Monroe. Other ensembles for Madonna include a crop top, a leopard-printed bra and a large cross on its neck. The clothing designer for the video is Arianne Phillips with fabrics supplied by brands such as Burberry, Dolce & amp; Gabbana, Bebe, Norma Kamali and jewelry from Swarovski, vintage Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, and Eddie Borgo.
Release and synopsis
Madonna first took a look at a video in exclusive American Idol on February 2, 2012, and the full video was aired the next day on her YouTube channel. The video begins with the words "Fans can make you famous, contracts can make you rich, the press can make you a superstar, but only luv [ sic ] that can make you a player" appear on the brick wall. Cheerleaders M.I.A. and Minaj then sings the opening lyrics in a suburban neighborhood with another cheerleader wearing an animegao mask. Madonna sang the first stanza when she came out of the house with a stroller and wore a raincoat and sunglasses, all of which would soon be thrown away. The newly grown footballer protects him from obstacles, the golden rain and destroys the car that is blocking his path. They hugged him perpendicular to the wall and he walked horizontally. Throughout the video, Madonna can be seen dancing and singing in front of a brick wall, and in one scene she holds a baby doll.
During the second verse, Madonna walked across town with M.I.A. and Minaj, and still followed by cheerleading and soccer players. He walked on the city street, as the player was shot down by an unseen shooter who fired a shot from a passing vehicle. He climbed the pyramid of football players, and was eventually taken to a club with Minaj and M.I.A., who sang their part in a room filled with cheerleaders and other soccer players. Madonna then fell out of the building but two players caught her. He makes his way to the town square, then begins to dance with his cheerleaders as they hit the football player's head with a baseball bat, revealing the climax fireworks display. Madonna grabbed one of her heads and proudly presented it to a cheering audience. The video ends with Madonna in front of a brick wall, laughing and throwing out a baby doll, like the word "Touchdown!" appears in front of a pink background.
Reception
Writing for Spin Caryn Ganz was pleased with the video, saying "[Madonna]'s effort to find the bridge between sport, love and fame fell a bit flat... but in the end, football players and cheerleaders in the video are all literally without the faces of passers-by, like two high profile MCs, all here to serve [the singer]. "Becky Bain Idolator found a number of topics to talk about video, including fake photography, golden rain and the appearance of the singers as "triple Marilyn or triple Madonna". Though he believed that it was not Madonna's best video, it was successful as a release. Christopher Farley from The Washington Post gave another positive comment, saying that the singer "seems in better condition than many students, who are crazy" and also praised him for choosing "MIA and Nicki Minaj - and making them right serving as a cheerleader for the Madonna brand. "MTV News' Jocelyn Vena described it as" funky, fun and surreal (and almost cartoonish) "as well as fun and lightweight:" Madonna looks like she's having a really fun time all over the visuals, smiling and swinging its way through this fictional, hyper-fantasy world. "Watching the clip, one might wonder what does not happen in the video."
Nicole James of MTV News argues that the video gives another impression that although "Madonna has never been a cute and plain gay queen, but healthy American football players still want to kick him." Cragg from The Guardian declared the video as "hoot" with "cheerleaders creepy and Madonna breastfeeding doll". Bradley Stern of MuuMuse found similarities in the video with Bj̮'̦rk's singer video for "It's Oh So Quiet" (1995) and Kylie Minogue's "Come into My World" (2002) with "walk-talk and walk-crawl" formulas in it. He added that the video was "self-conscious, completely modern, brash, sarcastic, glamorous and all camped at the same time". Chris Wilman of TheWrap noted the similarity with Madonna's "Material Girl" video (1985) with a scene that shows herself taken away by the footballers, adding that "everything here is as stupid as the titular spelling, but the clumsiness has its charm, at least if you like old musicals that some of the tracker shots here pay homage to. "
A writer from Rolling Stone gave a diverse review for a video that said "This is a silly and fun clip, although the faceless cheerleaders in the background are more sinister than entertaining." In MDNA pre-release screening, Matthew Todd from Attitude believes that the last scene that Madonna shows off a baby doll implies that she is moving away from domestic life and embracing a party attitude. Amanda Dobbins from New York found some "weirdness tried" in a video with three Marilyn and baby scenes in Madonna's lap, but added that "Madonna still looks crazy good".
Live show
In February 2012, Madonna performed "Give Me All Your Luvin '" with M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj at the Super Bowl XLVI event at halftime at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Madonna collaborated with Cirque du Soleil in producing the show. 36 image projectors are used to create a spectacle of lights. The entire show consists of a total of 500 outfits including a special look for music guests LMFAO, Minaj, M.I.A. and Green as well as costumes for 100 drummers, 150 gladiators - dressed in black panties designed by Calvin Klein - and 200 singers of the choir. When the performance of "Music" ended, a group of female dancers in a cheerleader uniform joined Madonna on stage to perform "Give Me All Your Luvin '". Minaj and M.I.A. joined him on stage, both dressed in Egyptian-inspired clothes. Together they dance as cheerleaders while holding pom-poms. During the intermediate section, all three stand on separate platforms where Minaj and M.I.A. doing each verse.
The show received widespread attention from the media after M.I.A. extending his middle finger to the camera near the end of his verse instead of singing "dirt". The media criticized M.I.A. to signal and compare the incident with the damage to Janet Jackson's wardrobe in 2004. People say, "Call it finger damage? Madonna should be the center of attention during the Super Bowl show on Sunday, but the Pop Queen is defeated by his collaborator MIA, who reversed the camera at one point during the show, prompting a quick apology from the NFL and NBC. "Madonna herself expressed her disappointment during the interview with host Ryan Seacrest on her talk show On Air with Ryan Seacrest >. He felt that it was a "teenager... irrelevant thing" to M.I.A. to do during the show, because it's "out of place". Brian McCarthy, an NFL spokesperson, said: "Our system is late to obscure inappropriate gestures and we apologize to our viewers.NFL hired talent and produced a part-time show There was a failure in the NBC postponement system The indecent movement in the show was really inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans. "McCarthy also clarified that the movement was not disclosed during the exercises, MIA improvised on stage. The league then fined the rapper a total of $ 16.6 million as a penalty, which was settled through a secret agreement in 2014.
Madonna also featured "Give Me All Your Luvin '" in the same year on The MDNA Tour. After the performance of "Express Yourself" ended, he started doing "Give Me All Your Luvin '" dressed as a majorette drum in white and red uniforms with high white boots. Phillips explained that the ensemble was created and inspired by the major look of the 1940s, and he added Swarovski crystals to the dress. Madonna sang a song on stage while drumline hung in the air, and M.I.A. and Minaj appears on the video screen. Caryn Ganz from Spin called the show "the most innovative moment of the night" while Brian McManus of Rolling Stone was impressed with the drum levitation on stage. Niv Elis of The Jerusalem Post declared the show as one of the "wow" moments of the event. The 19-20 November 2012 performance of "Give Me All Your Luvin '" at Miami American Airlines Arena, was recorded and released on Madonna's fourth album, MDNA World Tour.
