Laura Lynette Vikmanis (formerly Robb , born September 10, 1968) is a professional cheerleader for Cincinnati Ben-Gals, Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading squad. He is the oldest cheerleader in the history of the National Football League, at the age of 40 when he joined in 2009. He is also one of the authors of this book. It's Not About Pom-Poms .

Biography

Vikmanis comes from Springboro, Ohio. As a child, Vikmanis danced to Dayton Theater Dance and attended John F. Kennedy's junior, where she became a member of the cheerleading squad. She attended Fairmont High School and became a member of the Fairmont Firebird Drill Team. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1986. After high school, Vikmanis studied at California State University, Long Beach, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Food Administration. He is a certified dietitian and personal trainer. Despite appointing the Presbyterian, he married Brian Robb, a Roman Catholic, in a Catholic ceremony. They then had two daughters, both of whom were competitive cheerleaders. After filing for divorce, Vikmanis decided to pursue a career in professional cheerleading.

Careers

Vikmanis works as a registered dietitian and personal trainer for Nutrition and Fitness Specialists. He works with weight loss, weight management and cardiovascular nutrition. She teaches group fitness classes as well as private personal training sessions. Vikmanis made the squad in 2009. After attending a football game and seeing the cheerleaders, Vikmanis decided he wanted to pursue professional cheerleaders. At age 39, he tried to Ben-Gals and made it to the final, but was not put in the team. The following year he met a Ben-Gal cheerleader in one of the dance classes, who helped him train for the next trial. He tried again and made it. Since making the Ben-Gals, Vikmanis got great publicity and appeared on various television networks and talk shows. In March 2012, his book, co-written by Vikmanis and Amy Sohn, entitled It's Not About Pom-Poms was released. In 2012, Vikmanis will be ousted from the honor of being the oldest cheerleader in the league by Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader-hoping Sharon Simmons, on 55, but Simmons can not make the squad. Vikmanis went on to qualify and become a member of the Bengal squad for another 3 years.

Movies

New Line Cinema takes the right to make a movie about the Vikmanis life story. Upcoming movies, whose names have not been released, are being written by Gnomeo and Juliet and Ratatouille authors Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg.
