Histori
The revue is the successor of the creators of Face the Music and is the last stage performance of Marilyn Miller before his death. It was also the first Broadway show to give African-American star, Ethel Waters, who is the same as the whites.
Moss Hart said he and Irving Berlin did not want to write a typical reading with "fraud sketches" and music numbers, and they had the idea of ââcanceling the topic "directly from the front page of the newspaper." Berlin suspended its own expense as a composer, lyricist, and theater owner, keeping the show cost for "controlled" $ 96,000.
