Men's sports
The state of Oregon has three NCAA championships: two in baseball (2006 and 2007), and one in a cross country man (1961). The school dropped across the country and tracked the program in 1988 due to budget cuts, even though women's and trans-state trails were restored in 2005. Periodically, some men continue to compete individually in unbound status.
Baseball
The Oregon State University baseball program was founded in 1907. Since then, dozens of players continue to play in minor leagues and over 20 continue to play in majors. The most prominent of these major league players are New York Yankees winger Jacoby Ellsbury and Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Darwin Barney
The baseball team has won the 26th conference championship and has reached the College World Series six times, first in 1952 and recently 2017. They won the NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007. The team is headed by head coach Pat Casey and they play at the Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
