Thomas Clerke is a Sunderland singer/songwriter and poet from the seventeenth and/or eighteenth centuries.
Thomas Clerke is said to be a "Gentleman who has a strong friendly talent and writers of some passionate songs, and Anacreontic" which many of them are now associated with others.
He is said to be always cheerful and a member of the community who came out. His works are poetic and humorous and ready and humor glittering.
His works include: -

- Spottee - appeared on The Bishoprick Garland by (Sir) Cuthbert Sharp and also A Beuk o 'Newcassell Sang by Joseph Crawhall.
